Citadel + Compagnie is a dance organization with its home The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance embedded within the Regent Park community of downtown Toronto. Through its creation curation and cultivation of contemporary dance C+C’s mission is to make a significant and lasting contribution to dance in Canada. Citadel + Compagnie is a dance organization with its home The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance embedded within the Regent Park community of downtown Toronto. Through its creation curation and cultivation of contemporary dance C+C’s mission is to make a significant and lasting contribution to dance in Canada. Led by Artistic Director Laurence Lemieux the organization supports the artistic activities of its dance company its per- forming arts series and its training program. At its core the company commits to the creation and production of innova- tive and accessible original works of dance emphasizing the development of new works by artistic director Laurence Lemieux. Through remount initiatives the company dedicates itself to the preservation of important Canadian dance work and makes iconic repertoire available to a new generation of dancers and audiences. Night Shift furthers this cultivation by filling the need for more presentation opportunities within the dance community and making space for the work of boundary pushing artists exploring and practicing within all forms of dance. The Citadel Dance Program cultivates dance within C+C’s immediate neighbourhood delivering free dance education to local youth making dance both accessible and visible to those living within Regent Park and increasing awareness of the art form
