Ongoing programs

Blue Fish Canada continues to provide a blend of in-person and virtual programming. Programs such as Get Ready for Fishing outcomes are directed at informing inspiring and engaging youth their families and mentors to sustainably reconnect with nature and to become stewards of nature. BFC stewardship resource materials and training sessions have directly reached over 750 youth and 2 500 families and mentors. Leading the Great Lakes Fish Health Network includes overseeing the collaboration of articles book chapters and blogs promoting greater understanding of fish health and fish consumption advisories.

New programs

BFC continues to move forward with establishing a youth outdoor Training centre and fishery Research station. This includes the leasing of 3.5 hectares and the acquisition of a 342 square meter cabin and needed support materials. The Blue Fish Certified program trains and certifies outdoor professionals in stewardship and sustainability best practices.
