THE ORGANIZATION PAID $796 776.18 OF THE TOTAL BUILDING PURCHASE PRICE OF $1 543 000 IN THE YEAR 2023 AND THE REMAINING BALANCE OF $746 223.82 IS EXPECTED TO BE PAID BY NOVEMBER 2024. HOWEVER THE OVERALL BUILDING PURCHASE PRICE INCREASED BY AN EXTRA $35 000 DUE TO THE ORGANIZATION'S INABILITY TO PAY THE FULL BALANCE OF $746 223.82 DUE ON NOVEMBER 31 2024 EVEN THOUGH THE ORGANIZATION MANAGED TO PAY PART OF THE AMOUNT DUE $435 575. HENCE THE REVISED ACQUISITION COST AS OF DECEMBER 31 2024 IS NOW $1 578 000. THE ORGANIZATION IS COMMITTED TO PAYING THE REMAINING BALANCE DUE OF $345 649 ON THE BUILDING PURCHASE BY NOVEMBER 2025. THE TOTAL AMOUNT THE ORGANIZATION HAS PAID TO DATE ON THE BUILDING PURCHASE IS $1 232 351.
New programs
IN THE YEAR 2024 THE CHARITY STARTED A FOOD BANK INITIATIVE TO ENSURE STRUGGLING FAMILIES HAVE FOOD ON THEIR TABLES. SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THE PROGRAM NEARLY 100 FOODBANK PACKAGES (E.G. FRESH VEGETABLES DRY STAPLE FOOD FROZEN CHICKEN AND VARIOUS CHILDREN'S SNACKS) HAVE BEEN SHARED WITH MORE THAN 60 FAMILIES. THE CHARITY ALSO STARTED A NEWCOMERS ORIENTATION PROGRAM TO HELP PROVIDE SUPPORT TO NEWCOMERS IN THE CITY OF CALGARY COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING INFORMATIONAL RESOURCES THAT CAN HELP THEM INTEGRATE AND SETTLE QUICKLY.
