JOY BEYOND VISION COMMUNITY

Joy Beyond Vision Community (JBVC) is currently creating employment opportunities for six visually impaired individuals (VIP) as part of our three-pillared approach: Community Building Capacity Building and Faith Building. JBVC provides an array of services and programs to empower VIPs fostering a sense of belonging self-reliance and independence within our community. These services include: 1. We host in-person and online support groups Monday to Saturday in Cantonese Mandarin and English to connect VIPs share experiences and foster camaraderie. 2. We organize regular various activities to engage VIPs breaking down barriers and boosting self-confidence. 3. We offer personalized guidance and encouragement to empower VIPs as part of our Mentorship . 4. We partner with local agencies and churches to provide holistic services addressing individual needs and interests. 5. We assist VIPs in using technology including iPhones to enhance their independence. 6. We create opportunities for VIPs to use their expertise play a crucial role in supporting the community and promote inclusivity and independence. 7. JBVC Café offers employment training in customer service inventory control marketing cash handling food preparation menu design and teamwork. 8. We host regular Prayer Meetings and Bible Study sessions for VIPs to seek solace spiritual growth and fellowship. 9. We encourage VIPs to participate in mission trips to share their stories of hope and resilience and are equipped to confidently spread the message of faith while taking leadership roles in Praise and Worship sessions.

At JBVC our commitment to supporting visually impaired individuals (VIPs) and their loved ones remains steadfast. We continually seek opportunities and partnerships to enhance our services and expand our reach to other areas within Canada. In the coming year we have exciting new programs in the pipeline: 1. We recognize that friends and family of VIP members face unique challenges in coping with their loved ones' sight loss. To provide support we are launching a Care Giver Support Group offering a safe space for caregivers to connect share and find solace. 2. JBVC believes in unlocking the untapped potential and talents of VIPs particularly in vocal expression. We plan to introduce comprehensive training in online podcasting equipping VIPs with the skills needed to become online podcast hosts fostering inclusivity and sharing unique perspectives. These initiatives align with our mission to empower VIPs and their support networks by providing diverse and meaningful programs that enhance their quality of life and expand their horizons. We are excited to continue growing and serving the visually impaired community and its caregivers across Canada.
