ALTALMA FOUNDATION

Altalma Foundation is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to advancing economic development in Canada and strengthening the relationship between corporations and local stakeholders. Our mission is grounded in enhancing corporate social responsibility and fostering greater environmental awareness. We believe Canada’s long-term prosperity depends on a respectful balance of interests—among corporations governments communities and the environment. Globally over 800 million people—many from Indigenous and traditional communities—lack access to basic water and sanitation. In Canada First Nations comprise more than 50 nations speaking over 50 Indigenous languages across 634 communities. Tragically many of these communities have lived under boil water advisories for decades. Boiling water has become a daily routine to prevent waterborne illnesses. Altalma Foundation is committed to improving public health in Canada by advancing sustainable clean water solutions. Our focus is on supporting First Nations reserves and Indigenous communities that continue to face barriers to clean water and renewable energy access. Our programs are designed to provide education training and technical support for the planning and implementation of clean water and renewable energy projects on Indigenous lands. We offer full life-cycle consulting from assessment to execution alongside tailored educational programs that foster leadership technical skills and experiential learning in water wastewater and energy management. Internationally the Foundation is also engaged in poverty alleviation efforts in Myanmar where we are actively addressing food insecurity. Through our support of local orphanages we provide dried soup donations to help ensure that vulnerable children receive consistent and nutritious meals. At Altalma Foundation we believe that sustainable development begins with empowering communities—through knowledge resources and collaboration.
