Ongoing programs
We hold monthly meetings for education and support. We provide 1 on 1 support for prostate cancer survivors and their spouses and families. We provide 24 hour cell phone contact. We provide community events at health and wellness fairs. We provide educational speakers for community groups during Prostate Cancer Awareness Week and at monthly meetings. We hold monthly meetings for education and support. We provide 1 on 1 support for prostate cancer survivors and their spouses and families. We provide 24 hour cell phone contact. We provide community events at health and wellness fairs. We provide educational speakers for community groups during Prostate Cancer Awareness Week and at monthly meetings. We provide education and support video conferencing to regional prostate cancer support groups in Northwestern Ontario. We have completed the production and translation into various first nation languages a DVD for education and support in First Nation communities. We maintain a website and newsletter for education and support. Due to COVID-19 we transitioned all of our meetings to Zoom as we were not able to meet in person. We have now returned to meeting in person however we continue to offer all of our meetings virtually for those who are unable to attend in person. We continue our reimbursement program for the cost of PSA tests to men in the region.
