THREE LEFT FEET MOVEMENT CREATIONS

Three Left Feet provides dance education services for schools and communities in Alberta. Workshops Our workshops normally delivered in-person are offered to students during schools hours to guide essential Dance curriculum as set out by Alberta Education. We also invite instructors from across Canada to come to our studios to offer professional development programming to our artists. Performances We create dance performances for students teachers and community events. Types of performances are described below: 1. Digital showcase presentations for students and their families. Three Left Feet showcases student accomplishments in the performing arts by turning class time into film projects. 2. Outdoor stiltdance programming for festivals. 3. Screendance and dance films for young people. Our focus is to provide opportunities for Alberta's young people to engage in the movement arts. We strive to provide inclusive programming that allows all children to participate regardless of physical ability intellectual capacity or emotional hardship.

Canadian National Stilt Symposium The Canadian National Stilt Symposium is a new collaboration between Three Left Feet National Stiltwalkers of Canada and Blue Bird Moving Arts. Each of these three organizations is deeply invested in unifying the stilting community and has committed to hosting the event on alternate years between our home cities of Edmonton and Calgary. In October 2024 Three Left Feet hosted the Canadian National Stilt Symposium. In addition to the efforts of the co-producers this event was supported by Evergreen Theatre and Community Spaces and Green Fools. The CNSS hosts workshops lecture presentations roundtable discussions public activations and an evening performance. We believe that: • Our multi-faceted artistic practices are advanced through a sustained and interconnected arts ecosystem. • Canadian stilt artists and associated arts professionals benefit from activities that advance learning and strengthen networks within the stilting community. • Events like the Canadian National Stilt Symposium encourage cross-pollination of skills artistic intent approaches to accessibility and inclusion cultural reflections by bringing artists from one region to another in order to gain awareness of realities and capacities of different Canadian contexts. • We are better together. CNSS is a co-production by three organizations who believe in providing a forum for the wonder spectacle and cultural practices of stiltwork across the globe.
