Addressing Systemic Barriers to Supports and Services for Muslim Women and Girls Facing GBV CCMW has received funds from the Department of Women and Gender Equality to address systemic barriers to supports and services for Muslim women and girls facing gender-based violence (GBV). The project will develop a systemic change strategy and tools to address barriers Muslim women face in dealing with GBV. The change strategy and tools will include: a review of policies and practices of service providers law enforcement agencies legal clinics and religious organizations to determine barriers gaps harmful as well as best practices recommendations for improvements and key performance indicators that organizations could use to measure change; a guide for systemic review of policies and practices and training to service providers and other stakeholders to conduct their own reviews. Building on the model for CCMW's Legal Services Coordination pilot program (LSCPP) CCMW will create a pilot program that would document the experiences of Muslim women navigating the GBV landscape. The pilot would include key features of the LSCPP with a focus on systemic issues facing Muslim women. Evaluation will be built into the pilot so that systemic issues identified throughout the project may be addressed effectively. The pilot will include multilingual capability toll-free telephone access and simple online instructions. CCMW will build on the current LSCPP roster of legal and other service providers to include organizations focused on GBV. The duration of the project will be 1.5 years. Delete Digital Hate Project to develop an awareness campaign for Canadian Muslim women girls and non binary people to effectively counter hate misinformation and disinformation. The focus will be on online hate harassment and abuse specifically directed at racialized women girls and non binary people. The campaign will consist of 6 interactive virtual sessions with social media experts and members of non profit organizations. Feasibility of a legal clinic for Canadian Muslim Women project is to determine the feasibility of adapting the Canadian Council of Muslim Women's current legal and gender based violence services coordination programs into a fully functioning culturally appropriate legal clinic for Muslim women.
