Primary ongoing programs for Little People of Manitoba: Create awareness about dwarfism through social media personal appearances contemporary media and other means of communication; advocate locally provincially and nationally on behalf of the Little Person Community; Lobby government on human rights issues relating to physical size and stature; provide local support network for members of the Little Person Community in Manitoba; provide group sports and entertainment opportunities for members of the Little Person Community in Manitoba; partner with other Little People organizations around the world to support each other and create a network of mutual assistance opportunities; collect and disseminate legitimate information about the social and medical issues affecting people with dwarfism; partner with corporate entities to support our programming and assist with fundraising.
New programs
For 2024 LPM continued with the 2023 programming to support increased medical support for people with dwarfism. In September we hosted a conference bringing in specialists from both the United States and Canada to educate local medical professionals about issues relating to dwarfism. We also continued working with the Government Manitoba and passionate local doctors to instutite a Skeletal Dysplasia clininc locally in Manitoba.
