BGC NORRIS ARM INC.

We facilitate regular after school programming 5 days a week throughout 2024. We continue to serve children and youth ages 5-30. We also offer Tween and Teen evening programs as well as special events on weekends and holidays that our volunteers assist with. Our Canada Day celebration is an annual event in our community. During the summer we facilitate several family events day camps and regular daily programming Monday to Friday to children and youth ages 5+. We support employment in our rural community by hiring several summer students and youth through Government/BGC Canada programs. We support children and youth throughout our region and have members from several surrounding communities. Through grants we offer healthy food daily homework and academic support kids in the kitchen virtual programming healthy living awareness including mental health workshops drug and alcohol awareness cooking classes STEM activities physical activities and our youth and seniors are learning gardening skills through our on site community garden. We also regularly volunteer at our local school to facilitate the daily breakfast program. We also support our school with resources and supplies to run the the breakfast program. We also offer our services to support seniors activities through the New Horizon's Seniors Program and our Grants to Youth Organization funding. We facilitate weekly events at our clubs for seniors and also offer one on one services. Through this program we offer weekly events seniors can socialize at as their are no other organizations in the community offering this. We offer larger events with entertainment and have hosted garden parties for seniors. We also offer assistance with tax preparation technology support and assistance with government websites and printing forms and services and much more. Through our GTYO programming; we offer intergenerational mentoring and invite our seniors to join our youth groups throughout our programming while still offering regular programming for our youth. We have completed first aid courses with seniors and youth crafts tech nights swimming and more. We have expanded our academic support with tutoring and financial advice sessions regarding RESP's and the Canada Learning Bond.

We also continue to expand our food security work within the community by offering food rescue and food distribution through our FOod Rescue program in conjunction with local grocery stores. We also offer community meals open to general public. We are also continuing to add to our knowledge based learning by having youth participate in activities surrounding our Truth and Reconciliation from BGC Canada. We also continue to develop our seniors programs to include learning new skills and accessing information on important topics such as elder abuse frauds and scams and mental and physical health services that are available to them. We completed our Splash pad last year which has been met with great participation and even supporting children and youth from new communities. We added a second washroom to our facility to help better support the community and we are offering new cooking programs technology and youth volunteer initiatives to help bring the community closer together.
