This is a foundation: it mostly grants money to other charities, so program-spending ratios are the wrong lens. We show the share of spending disbursed to qualified donees instead.

Rotaide is the charitable foundation of the Rotary Club of Montreal-Lakeshore. Members of the club raise funds through events including auctions breakfasts etc. to enable them to provide grants to qualified donees mostly in the Montreal region. Our preference is to give to small charities who operate largely with volunteer help and find it hard to compete with larger charities for donations. The foundation also supports international programs through donations to registered Canadian charities who are leading such activities. Members are also involved in direct support of local charities such as the West Island Mission and in collecting produce for donation to local foodbanks.
New programs
During the reporting year we have worked to restore the club's ability to raise funds through our traditional events and have begun evaluation of additional event concepts. The club organised a breakfast to support a charity working to improve the educational prospects for under privileged children in Guatemala and an oyster party event which enabled the club to donate various charities. We also ran a Casino Night which provided some additional funds.
