Ongoing programs
Members of the Allegro and Andante bands attend weekly rehearsals on Monday and Tuesday nights. We again participated in July's Stampede Parade. The Allegro and Andante bands shared the stage in our annual Christmas Concert and in our annual Spring Concert in May. Our brass instrumentalists played for the Remembrance Day Ceremony. In March we participated in the Rotary Festival workshops and also sponsored awards for students playing in those workshops. New programs
With the passing of our group's founder we organized a donation campaign to begin work on commissioning a Canadian composer to write a wind band piece in remembrance of him. A commission consortium was formed and preparations are well underway in commissioning the piece which is expected to be delivered in April of 2025. We also participated in a celebration of life for our founder where both bands played musical pieces chosen by his family. We also supported the formation of a new city choir Medicine Hat Sings by way of administrative assistance.
