Ongoing programs
The Calgary Bach Choir is a dynamic organization which now offers a three-concert season with professional musicians and soloists for Calgary audiences. We promote an appreciation and enjoyment of classical music to the general public with a focus on the Baroque period (1600-1750) and the music of Johann Sebastian Bach his musical predecessors contemporaries and heirs. The Calgary Bach Choir is a dynamic organization which now offers a three-concert season with professional musicians and soloists for Calgary audiences. We promote an appreciation and enjoyment of classical music to the general public with a focus on the Baroque period (1600-1750) and the music of Johann Sebastian Bach his musical predecessors contemporaries and heirs. We strive for musical excellence in our performances. We are an inclusive choral community with adult choristers from all walks of life who share a passion for the music we sing. We offer our members when possible choral workshops with guest clinicians to develop their musical abilities.
New programs
In 2023-2024 we built on the previous season of presenting three concerts. 'Bach & Charpentier' in November 2023 featured choir chamber orchestra and soloists performing music by J. S. Bach Daquin Corrette and Charpentier. 'Brightly Shines the Morning Star' in March 2024 presented music by J. S. Bach C. P. E. Bach and Telemann for choir soloists and chamber orchestra. 'Elemental Light' was a co-production with the chamber strings group Kensington Sinfonia in June 2023 and included works by Seidle Gjeilo and Handel.
