GRANDE PRAIRIE PUBLIC SCHOOL DIVISION EDUCATION FOUNDATION IS A COMMUNITY BASED EFFORT TO ENGAGE THE COMMUNITY AND RAISE AWARENESS CONCERNING PUBLIC EDUCATION AS ITS ACCOMPLISHMENT. 1) NUTRITION & WELLNESS PROGRAM - WE SUPPORT NUTRITIONAL PROGRAMS FOR STUDENT THAT DO NOT HAVE RELIABLE NUTRITION SOURCES AND WELLNESS INITIATIVES SUPPORTING STAFF AND STUDENTS. 2) SCHOLARSHIPS - WE FUND SCHOLARSHIPS FOR POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS WHO ARE GOING INTO CAREER & TECHNOLOGY STUDIES AS WELL AS LEADERSHIP AND ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS 3) STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE DINNER - A RECOGNITION EVENT WHERE WE AWARD APPROXIMATELY 150 STUDENTS IN OUR DIVISION ALONG WITH THEIR FAMILIES FOR GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND IN ACADEMICS AND SCHOOL SERVICE. 4) ANNUAL SCHOOL GRANT PROGRAM - EACH YEAR WE ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM OUR 18 SCHOOLS FOR PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES WHICH ENHANCE THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR OUR STUDENTS. WE HAVE FUNDED MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS LITERACY PROGRAMS SPECIAL NEEDS EQUIPMENT ROBOTICS FIRST RESPONDER PROGRAMS ETC. VOLUNTEERS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART TO THE SUCCESS OF OUR EFFORTS. WE HAVE VOLUNTEERS WHO SUPPORT OUR EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES AND A VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE LEADING AN ANNUAL FUNDRAISER.
