Ongoing programs
THE MEMBERS RESEARCH OTHER LOCAL CHARITIES WHICH ARE INVOLVED WITH CHILDREN WHO ARE PHYSICALLY OR MENTALLY CHALLENGED. IN JUNCTION WITH THE CITY OF NIAGARA FALLS AND THE PUBLIC LIBRARY WE ARE CREATING A STORY BOOK TRAIL. THE CONCEPT IS TO HAVE A PLACE WHERE FAMILIES CAN GO TO WALK AND ALSO READ STORY BOOKS ALONG THE TRAIL. THE GOAL IS TO PROVIDE SOMETHING FOR FAMILIES TO DO CHILDREN TO READ AND ALL TO GET EXERCISE. UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO COVID CONSTRUCTION HAD BEEN DELAYED DUE TO THE SHORTAGE OF MATERIALS. THE PROJECT WAS FINISHED AND OPENED FOR USE IN 2023.

THIS YEAR OUR FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTED $35 000 TO GROW COMMUNITY FOOD LITERACY TO ASSIST WITH THE PURCHASE OF A MOBILE FARMER'S MARKET TRUCK TO OFFER FOOD AT LOW COST WICH WILL HELP PARENTS PROVIDE FOOD TO THEIR CHILDREN. WE ALSO COMMITTED $50 000 (TO BE PAID OVER 5 YEARS) TO PATHSTONE MENTAL HEALTH FOR A NEW FACILITY IN WELLAND TO HELP MENTALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN. THE OTHER COMMITTMENT WE MADE THIS YEAR WAS TO THE NIAGARA PENINSULA CONSERVATION FOUNDATION OF $10 000 (TO BE PAID OVER TWO YEARS).
