THE TALLIS CHOIR SUPPORTS THE PERFORMING ARTS COMMUNITY IN THE TORONTO AREA THROUGH LIVE PERFORMANCES OF RARELY HEARD CHORAL WORKS WHICH RAISE AWARENESS AND PRESERVE MUSIC IN HISTORICAL CONTEXT . THE CHOIR IS A CHAMBER ENSEMBLE OF 36 VOICES THAT HAS OVER ITS 47 YEAR HISTORY EARNED A REPUTATION OF INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING AND POLISHED PERFORMANCES. WORKS COVERING NEARLY 1000 YEARS OF CHORAL REPERTOIRE FROM GREGORIAN CHANT TO CONTEMPORARY COMPOSITION ARE REPRESENTED HOWEVER THE CHOIR IS BEST KNOWN AS ONE OF THE FEW ENSEMBLES IN CANADA SPECIALIZING IN THE MUSIC OF THE RENAISSANCE ESPECIALLY 1… Show more
