Ongoing programs
The Glace Bay Heritage Museum Society conducts tours of the museum and exhibits; conducts workshops with students and youth groups; makes archives and other resources available to the public; hosts open-house events; hosts events for other organizations; collaborates and partners directly with other organizations; provides space for other groups (weddings reunions meetings); maintains an open gift shop and tourist information center.

The following were new programs in 2024: We supervised at-risk youth in the Restorative Justice Program as they completed their community service hours; we helped foreign university students at Cape Breton University with their assignments on learning about Cape Breton culture organizations and geography (several of these foreign university students have joined us as volunteers); we hosted bus tour visitors from the cruise ships; we hosted events in collaboration with the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and Bay-It-forward (town of Glace Bay); and we are currently engaged in a major fundrais… Show more
