The Friends of Bonnechere Parks (Friends) were successful in receiving a grant through the FedDev Ontario - Tourism Relief Fund. The year was busy executing the deliverables of the project; designing and constructing two fully accessible trails an accessible washroom and accessible parking areas. A new website was developed and a partnership with CNIB was formed to provide trail support for the visually impaired through an app called BlindSquare. The interpretation for the trails is found in a new app that was created to support three languages; English French and our local indigenous language Anishinaabemowin. This is groundbreaking as it is the first trail app created with the three languages. Provided financial support to the park for trail upgrades. This was an amazing project because a portion of the trail had been closed for many years. The support assisted the park in purchasing building materials to erect a new bridge.
