PRTRA offers horseback riding sessions that are specifically designed to meet the therapeutic needs of participants in our community. With students from SD47 partners in education and adults in our community with disabilities. PRTRA offers horseback riding sessions that are specifically designed to meet the therapeutic needs of participants in our community. With students from SD47 partners in education and adults in our community with disabilities. These activities are facilitated by certified therapeutic riding instructors with the support of trained volunteers. The program aims to improve balance coordination strength and confidence for individuals facing physical emotional and cognitive challenges. PRTRA relies heavily on the contributions of volunteers who assist in various roles including horse care leading and sidewalkers who support riders during sessions. Volunteers are integral in maintaining the program's effectiveness and in ensuring the safety of participants. Volunteers contribute on average 100 hours weekly to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service our average week sees 47 students in lessons. Most of our riders require 2 side walkers and a horse handler ( 3 volunteers total).
