Ongoing programs
We had a successful year attracting new volunteers and audiences. Each of our productions engage about 50 volunteers part-time in various capacities over a period of 3 months on average. We had a successful first show with our production of 'The Art of Murder' in Fall 2023 selling out several performances. Our 2nd production was 'Bloom' in Spring 2024 written by playwright Andrew Morton. We had a successful year attracting new volunteers and audiences. Each of our productions engage about 50 volunteers part-time in various capacities over a period of 3 months on average. We had a successful first show with our production of 'The Art of Murder' in Fall 2023 selling out several performances. Our 2nd production was 'Bloom' in Spring 2024 written by playwright Andrew Morton. We engaged in community partnering and promotion of local initiatives through creative displays and signage (including BIA rotary club lions club and Flamborough foodbank with in kind use of our outdoor sign at memorial Hall in Waterdown Ontario (seen by many on busy main street)). We continue to mentor tech both lighting & sound set build stage management to create new opportunities. We continued our tradition of awarding theatre bursary awards to 2 students from a local high school in the areas of 'Acting' and 'Backstage/Technical'. We support Volunteer recognition through a local volunteer organization nominating a VT volunteer for their commitment and achievements.
New programs
In December of 2023 we hosted a volunteer appreciation night with a play reading of sections of Charles Dickens 'A Christmas Carol'. About 100 volunteers past and present attended this well received event.
