Ongoing programs

At Queenswood United Church we serve God by taking care of God’s creation. We help those in need we nurture the young and we support our immediate community and the world community. We are conscientious stewards of God’s planet. Our service is centred in a commitment to living Christ’s love for all. At Queenswood United Church we serve God by taking care of God’s creation. We help those in need we nurture the young and we support our immediate community and the world community. We are conscientious stewards of God’s planet. Our service is centred in a commitment to living Christ’s love for all. It is nourished within an informal but meaningful worship life and a relationship with each other that is open inquiring and accepting. -As nurturers of God’s creation QUC has won the highest environmental recognition from Faith and The Common Good Ottawa for consistent long-term healthy environmental practices in all aspects of our daily functioning. -As a loving community in Christ we take care of our congregation through weekly worship opportunities professional pastoral care and caring social interaction with each other -We care for those in need in our neighbourhood by working in our community gardens and delivering weekly loads of fresh produce to the local food bank. -As part of a strong tradition of outreach to the greater community QUC’s Outreach Group leads ongoing congregation-wide campaigns that support both local organizations such as Orléans Cumberland Community Resource Centre Miriam Centre and Centre 507 and overseas charitable organizations such as Kiva. We give donations of items and of money. A member of the Outreach Group volunteers personally on a weekly basis with a central Ottawa organization that offers a drop-in centre and other needs-based services. -We financially support overseas and Canadian-based missionary activities by gifting funds to our denomination headquarters which is a registered charity.
