WE PRESERVE THE BUILD SOCIAL AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE OF THE EASTERN SHORE COMMUNITIES OF NOVA SCOTIA BETWEEN LAWRENCETOWN AND ECUM SECUM. WE DELIVER EDUCATION MATERIALS AND LEARNING PROGRAMS TO SCHOOL AND GROUPS FOCUSING ON COASTAL LIVING DURING THE 1940S WORLD WAR TWO AND LOCAL INDUSTRIES SCH AS THE INSHORE FISHERY FORESTRY SMALL-HOLDING FARMING AND GOLD MINING. WE PRESERVE OF OVER 6 000 ARTIFACTS 400 LINEAR METRES OF ARCHIVAL RECORES 300 AUDIO FILES AND 5 000 DIGITAL IMAGES. WE RECEIVED HELP FROM OVER 150 VOLUNTEERS ANNUALLY.

New programs

WE ARE CREATING AN EASTERN SHORE ARCHIVES-ONLINE WEBSITE THAT MAKES LOCAL HERITAGE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO THE WORLD. WE ARE MAPPING OVER 118 EXISTING AND LOST CHURCHES ALONG THE EASTERN SHORE. WE ARE CONDUCTING A 'NOW OR NEVER' ORAL HISTORY PROJECT TO INTERVIEW AND CONNECT WITH LOCAL SENIORS OVER THE AGE OF 90. WE ARE PROVIDING A VENUE FOR TWO WEEK-LONG RECREATION CAMPS AND PREPARING EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES FOR THEM. WE ARE UNDERTAKING RESEARCH AND DOCUMENTING INTANGIBLE AND TRADITIONAL SKILLS SUCH AS BUILDING BOATS AND KILLICKS.
