The Trust encourages and supports higher education for women by funding and disbursing scholarships and bursaries to students in the local Ottawa area. Over the years the Scholarship Trust fund has increased through personal and memorial donations in addition to fund-raising activities. The CFUW Nepean Scholarship Trust is a registered charitable organization that was established in 1996. The Trust encourages and supports higher education for women by funding and disbursing scholarships and bursaries to students in the local Ottawa area. Over the years the Scholarship Trust fund has increased through personal and memorial donations in addition to fund-raising activities. In 2024 the Trust raised a total of $5 024 primarily from donations with approximately 61% coming from fundraising. As of 2024 CFUW Nepean Scholarship Trust has in total awarded $67 960 and assisted many women on their journey to better their lives and career opportunities. In 2024 the Scholarship Trust disbursed $2 360 to Algonquin College for our scholarship activities. This amount was increased by $3 640 held on account with Algonquin College as a result of a matching program for donations to the CFUW Nepean/Scholarship Trust. Therefore a total of $6 000 was provided to 6 deserving recipients: three $1 000 scholarships and three $1 000 bursaries were awarded to students of Algonquin College in the Practical Nursing Occupational Therapist Assistant and STEM programs.
