The Dementia Resource Program (DRC)- This program places Social Workers as Dementia Resource consultants in the Emergency Rooms of three hospitals in Woodstock St. Thomas and London soon to be expanded to Tillsonburg and Alexandria hospitals. The DRCs provide 'in the moment' support to individuals who present to the ER with dementia symptoms. This program is also designed to help navigate the client to return safely home after treatment with the proper at home supports or alternative living arrangements This frees up hospital beds for the immediate short term patients.
