1. Funds researchers and research teams working in medical institutes universities hospitals and communities across Canada as part of commitment to fund life-saving research. 2. Provides the public with health information and education programs on preventing and managing heart disease and stroke. 3. Provides special awareness and education materials to reach out to diverse groups at increased risk of or living with heart disease and stroke. 4. Provides professional education programs and resuscitation courses to keep healthcare providers up to date; implements multi-pronged programs focused on key issues of emerging concern. 5. Advocates for positive social change on issues such as vaping and smoke free laws provincial stroke systems sugar universal access to medication and widespread access to AEDs. 6. Provides public CPR/AED education. 7. Develops updates and adapts the clinical guidelines on resuscitation first aid and Stroke best practices for Canada. 8. Leads a team of Community Specialists to engage with local communities and partners and identify local health issues and needs relevant to our mission.
