Services Provided: Our members can access all materials free of charge in our library. Patrons also have Reciprocal Borrowing privileges at Tweed Stirling-Rawdon and Marmora libraries. Membership provides access to a large selection of printed material in a variety of formats DVDs audiobooks online resources local history information (microfilm family histories Ancestry archives) and computer services (patron PC access 2 children’s computers with educational programs free wi-fi scanning and printing). We also have a 'Library of Things' that includes board games Lego and fishing tackle Ontario Parks passes and Quinte Conservation passes. The library hosts free programs throughout the year including weekly Chess Club In the Loop (knitting and crochet) and Chair Yoga and monthly Madoc Library Tabletop Game Night. We also participate in International Games Day have special holiday craft programs and offer in-house and take-and-make crafts and author/artist talks. The TD Summer Reading Program is held throughout July and August. We also participate in outreach at local events. We maintain an online presence with active social media accounts and website. Our meeting room is available for all to rent with a discount to registered non-profit groups and community groups that don't charge a fee. The library features many items which aid accessibility. The building is wheelchair accessible with parking available in the front of the building. An elevator is available for those wishing to attend events in the lower level. In library we provide access to the following: large print books audiobooks large type keyboard Macbook with screen reader CELA and a fully compliant website. We also provide mobile service to those who cannot make it in to the library. Library Staff provide free personal assistance in many areas - access to internet and computer software programs in the library filling Government forms (including Census Pension applications and certificate requests) and Libby set-up on a patron tablet or eReader. The library also provides exam proctoring to support members of the community who are completing distance education. The bulk of the library service work is managed by three front-line staff members. Our dedicated volunteers also provide invaluable service as they help keep the library running smoothly by re-shelving books keeping the shelves tidy assisting Patrons and providing genealogical research assistance.
