The Synod of the Diocese of Niagara

The operation and the maintenance of a place of worship for the parish of St. Aidan's in Oakville. We provide spiritual help and guidance inclusive worship and a safe place where church and community can meet. St. Aidan's is a hub for activities that build community support individuals families and healthy relationships and partner with other groups to address the needs of those less fortunate in the community. This past year we provided weekly space for a community group to gather together and draw. We also hosted several community events such as a barbeque a carol sing and a pumpkin giveaway. We hosted an Earth Day event advocating and taking action toward the climate crisis in partnership with a local non-profit organization and local resident's association. The event collected e-waste diverting it from landfill provided bicycle repair and a meeting place for neighbourhood garbage pick up. We also hosted community concerts and monthly Taize worship gatherings for the surrounding neighbourhood. Community Connections is a weekly event that provides lunch and social time to Older Adults. St. Aidan's partners with another community organization. There are four volunteers who regularly serve at this offering to the wider community.
