HOCKEY HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM: Owns and operates a museum and place of entertainment comprised of leased premises (approximately 60 000 sq ft.) located at Brookfield Place Toronto Ontario; Owns and operates a resource centre and archive facility comprised of leased premises (approximately 18 000 sq. ft.) located at 400 Kipling Ave Toronto Ontario; Recognizes individuals who have brought special distinction to the game of hockey via their election/induction into Honoured Membership; Collects and preserves objects images and histories connected with the game of hockey as it is played in Canada and throughout the world; Develops and presents exhibits and interpretative programs to entertain and educate the public about all facets of hockey; Maintains an archive of documents books and periodicals relevant to the history and current development of hockey; Serves as the principal facility for research on the history of hockey and provides various archival services to hockey organizations; Develops and offers outreach programs i.e. travelling exhibits loan/licensing of artifacts/archival materials tiered education curriculums etc.; Develops and conducts remote/virtual education programs for indigenous youth (via The Larry and Judy Tanenbaum Family Legends of Hockey Scholars Fund); Develops and conducts remote/virtual education programs promoting diversity and inclusion (via the Scotiabank Diversity in Hockey Program); and Supports other charitable organizations by providing outreach exhibits use of facilities for special events and other fundraising initiatives.
