The late Tamio Wakayama was a Japanese Canadian photographer who worked in the American Civil Rights Movement with SNCC and trained as a dark room photographer photographing the deep South. He returned to Canada to photograph the Japanese Canadian arts festival called the Powell Street Festival. The late Tamio Wakayama was a Japanese Canadian photographer who worked in the American Civil Rights Movement with SNCC and trained as a dark room photographer photographing the deep South. He returned to Canada to photograph the Japanese Canadian arts festival called the Powell Street Festival.
