World Vision Canada carries out programs in 55 countries which are funded through ongoing private and public funding and focuses on: • Livelihoods: including food environment & climate change and economic empowerment; • Health: including water sanitation hygiene maternal neo-natal child & adolescent health nutrition infectious communicable diseases mental health & helping women make informed choices about reproductive health such as the freedom to decide if and when to have children; • Child Rights: including child protection and child participation; • Education: including Early Childhood Development basic education and technical & vocational training; • Disaster Management: including responses to major humanitarian crises providing life-saving assistance and supporting communities to build resilience and respond to future shocks; •Nexus programming: including multi-sectoral interventions that address the three pillars of humanitarian development and peacebuilding needs in fragile countries or areas of fragility and promoting context monitoring to enable projects to adapt to the shifting needs of a community. • Advocacy: including programs to empower citizens to hold their local governments accountable & improve the services on which they depend. World Vision Canada also works with governments to influence international policies & programs to advocate for the rights and needs of the most vulnerable children & families. World Vision Canada also manages a large global gifts-in-kind and grant portfolio. This work executed in both development and fragile contexts spans a variety of sectors including but not limited to gender equality and women’s empowerment health education livelihoods and protection.

A new area of focus has been contributing to the elimination of Tuberculosis and AIDS in Thailand through early detection diagnosis and treatment services with funding from The Global Fund to Fight AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria.
