Ongoing programs

The Glengarry Pipe band exists to provide capable pipers and drummers a forum in which to develop their skills build team cohesion and foster competitive spirit. Its goals are to aid in the instruction of piping and drumming in Glengarry; to increase the talent expertise and numbers of the Glengarry Pipe Band; and to represent Glengarry at home and abroad by the professional execution of world-class pipe band music. The Glengarry Pipe band exists to provide capable pipers and drummers a forum in which to develop their skills build team cohesion and foster competitive spirit. Its goals are to aid in the instruction of piping and drumming in Glengarry; to increase the talent expertise and numbers of the Glengarry Pipe Band; and to represent Glengarry at home and abroad by the professional execution of world-class pipe band music. In accomplishing these goals the Glengarry Pipe Band will endeavor to support and enrich its community with Scottish culture and heritage. The Glengarry Pipe Band remains dedicated to the pursuit of musical excellence in doing so is to continue our ongoing programs such as playing concerts. Instruction of new players of all ages with emphasis on our younger group. We play/entertain at community events complete in competitions Highland Games. All members of this organization are volunteers as well as the support of family members to assist as well. We have regular meetings with the board of directors. Volunteer hours can be in excess of over 140 hours depending on the year.

Our new program will be to continue to strive for a continued presence in community events with the hope of actually increasing our presence even more in the community. It is our goal to enhance the involvement with our youth so that they can enjoy the atmosphere of being part of The Glengarry Pipe Band as well as learning about the Scottish culture at the same time. We will continue to encourage expansion welcoming diversity in our members and continue our close affiliation with The Glengarry School of Piping and Drumming as well as the Glengarry Highland Games Association.
