What it does — in its own words
Ongoing programs
The Society has continued to organize social and educational events in 2024. We have reached out to our Cultural Communities in Squamish. The restoration of the lawn bowling green will be completed in 2025 with our donation of $39 000. We continue to see improvement in the relationship between District staff and our Society. We have initiated a positive relationship with Councilor John French to help open communication with the Mayor and Council.
New programs
We have changed our society’s name to Squamish 55+ Community Society and we have updated our Constitution and Bylaws. Our technological infrastructure has also been upgraded. We have Developed a new monthly newsletter created new and renewal membership correspondence along with creating new member cards. A new website was designed including all content and was launched on June 30 2024.
