Centre de 55 ans et plus de Chateauguay

We are a social Centre servicing the English-speaking seniors of Châteauguay. We offer a variety of activities designed to stimulate educate entertain and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Our existence within our community is well known and we continue to grow our membership. The 55+ Centre is managed & operated solely by volunteers. Our mission is to operate an activity Centre for the English-speaking senior citizens residing in and around Chateauguay aged 55 years of age and over. We promote the physical and emotional well being of the members by offering a variety of activities on a daily basis. This includes courses crafts games physical exercise creative activities excursions (day trips) travels entertainment activities (such as shows and movies) as well as information sessions. All of our activities engage members of our organization. This ranges from groups of 10 people to 150 people depending on the activity. It encourages interaction among the members targets their cognitive skills motor skills physical well being including providing them with nourishing meals (Birthday Celebrations Soup Kitchen & catering at special events). Some of the activities have been in place since the inception of our organization 1985 (darts board games curling to name a few) while others were recently added in the last 3 years (Pickleball Mahjong Corn Hole etc.)The benefits to the members can be measured by the pleasure they derive from the activity their dedication to our center & their appreciation of all that is offered. This also extends to their family members who are pleased and encouraging of their seniors having such a wonderful place to keep them healthy and safe.
