Ongoing programs
Cameras For Girls pursues Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality in Africa using photography as our catalyst. We provide women who face gender-based barriers to employment with a camera to keep and a 4-phase photography storytelling and business-skills curriculum to support their goals of becoming paid journalists and photographers in male-dominated spaces. To date 189 young women have graduated from the program and 80% now have full-time paid work in the male-dominated media industry. We also have our Online Learning Hub supporting 2 000+ women across Africa.
New programs
The Train the Trainer program launched in Uganda in June 2024 training 5 former students in Uganda to be paid trainers with Cameras For Girls to help us build our sustainability in Uganda.
