Sharing is Caring Sponsor A Meal Khwahish Foundation’s Sharing is Caring Sponsor A meal is Grande Prairie’s only hot meal delivery program for the most vulnerable population in the city. Our innovative approach to rescuing food and reducing hunger involves collecting and distributing quality meal that would otherwise go to waste — and redirecting it to those in need. By diverting food from the landfill and composting what can no longer be consumed Khwahish Foundation also contributes to a healthier greener environment while providing relief from hunger and building community. Under this program we donated 14110 meals in FY: 2024. Stamp Out Period Poverty Lack of access to the necessary products often results in unhygienic practices affecting an individual’s health wellbeing ability to attend school and ability to actively participate in society. Menstruation products are some of the most requested items by patrons of shelters and foodbanks yet are also some of the least donated. Food insecurity and period poverty are complex and systemic issues but tangible steps to reduce them can be taken now. With this project our goal is to provide dignity and access to safe and hygienic menstrual products for low-income and marginalized women. Under this program we donated 1390 menstrual hygiene products in FY: 2024.

Zero Hunger Day in Grande Prairie The Khwahish Foundation of Grande Prairie was established with the purpose of lending a helping hand in our local community. We also hope to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2.1 'end hunger by 2030 and ensure access by all people in particular the poor and people in vulnerable situations including infants to safe nutritious and sufficient food all year round.' At Khwahish we recognize the importance of collaborative and innovative initiatives that address food security gaps with the intent of ensuring that people have access to food in a manner that maintains human dignity. Our goal is a hunger free Grande Prairie by 2030. To set the ball rolling we plan to organize zero hunger day in Grande Prairie in 2025. We are planning to start international charity program in 2025 for which we are amending our objectives.
