Acquired in 2024 the site supports all three of FED's charitable purposes: poverty relief education and public amenity. 2. My FED Farm This program relieves poverty by distributing home garden kits and providing mentorship to low? income individuals and families. It empowers participants to grow their own food and build food security through practical education. 3. Demonstration & Rooftop Gardens FED stewards several publicly accessible gardens that serve as models of inclusive urban food growing. These sites support food access offer educational signage and programming and function as community amenities. 4. Community Engagement & Education FED advances education through inclusive workshops webinars school programs and volunteer opportunities focused on food systems and urban agriculture. Programs are offered online and in person with a focus on accessibility and impact.

The acquisition ensures long-term security and expanded capacity for these core programs. Rationale for Property Acquisition In 2024 FED Urban Agriculture Society purchased an existing urban farm business and assumed full operational control of its activities on a leased site. This acquisition supports our charitable purposes of relieving poverty advancing education and providing a public amenity. The farm now operates as a mission-aligned social enterprise generating modest revenue through the sale of produce and program-related services. Legal counsel reviewed the transaction and confirmed that the resulting activities qualify as a related business under CRA guidelines. All revenues are reinvested into our charitable programs to increase food access support educational opportunities and sustain public green space. This strategic acquisition ensures continuity of service protects an important community asset and strengthens our long-term capacity to deliver high-impact financially sustainable programming.
