During the fiscal year of the reporting period the charity - i.e. United Voices Choir - continued in-person rehearsals and public performances including participating in a ceremony of Remembrance in November 2023 a pair of Fall concerts one in Kerrisdale and one in Vancouver's West End performing Handel's Messiah in late November 2023 as well as a 'Singalong Messiah' in Dec 2023. The choir performed a similarly located pair of public concerts in early June 2024 performing the Mass in B Minor by J.S.Bach. The choir also did a series 'outreach' Christmas performance at seniors' residences. For the two pairs of public concerts and the Singalong Messiah the charity hired young professional musicians to create a chamber orchestra to accompany the choir. In addition to keeping these concerts accessible by maintaining very low ticket prices ($30) we made free tickets available to residents of local Seniors Homes near the performance space and to a number of local charities serving disadvantaged people or new Canadians.
