Ongoing programs

We create opportunities with people experiencing food insecurity to cook grow share and connect for improved health and wellbeing. We offer a unique warm and welcoming neighborhood food centre. We operate the following programs: a) Food Skills Program: Volunteers teach basic nutrition meal planning FoodSafe seasonal eating and preservation techniques adaptive cooking techniques and cuisine from around the world; b) Pantry Program and Grocery Gift Card Program: this self-select food distribution program focuses on fresh and healthy food choices accommodating for cultural food diet Show more

We create opportunities with people experiencing food insecurity to cook grow share and connect for improved health and wellbeing. We offer a unique warm and welcoming neighborhood food centre. We operate the following programs: a) Food Skills Program: Volunteers teach basic nutrition meal planning FoodSafe seasonal eating and preservation techniques adaptive cooking techniques and cuisine from around the world; b) Pantry Program and Grocery Gift Card Program: this self-select food distribution program focuses on fresh and healthy food choices accommodating for cultural food dietary restrictions food allergies and/or limited access to cooking facilities; c) Garden Program: Led by experienced volunteers our gardens help to supply fresh high quality seasonal produce to our Pantry and Food Skills programs. We host a variety of workshops tours farm gleaning opportunities and resources to promote food growing at home; d) and we provide information to connect with other community resources and to become resources for one another.
