OUR PLACE SOCIETY PROVIDES AN EXTENSIVE CONTINUUM OF SUPPORT SERVICES TO THOSE WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH HOMELESSNESS POVERTY ADDICTIONS AND MENTAL OR PHYSICAL HEALTH ISSUES IN GREATER VICTORIA. IT SERVES APPROXIMATELY 2 000 PEOPLE EACH YEAR. IT IS THE LARGEST EMERGENCY MEAL SUPPLIER ON VANCOUVER ISLAND SERVING MORE THAN 1 200 NUTRITIOUS MEALS EVERY DAY AND SNACKS. COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING INCLUDES DANDELION STREET OUTREACH FOR THE UNHOUSED SENIORS PROGRAMMING SPIRITUAL CARE CREATIVE ACTIVITIES BIKE AND PET CLINICS AND MORE. OUT PLACE SOCIETY HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE TOP CHARITIES IN CANADA BY CHARITY INTELLIGENCE AND WAS NAMED THE NON-PROFIT OF THE YEAR RECENTLY BY THE GREATER VICTORIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
