To humanely reduce the overpopulation of unowned free roaming cats by managing community based TNR (trap neuter return) programs in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. CA-R-MA's efforts are entirely volunteer based. We aim to reduce the burden on local animal shelters that are forced to euthanize hundreds of cats every year and reduce the unnecessary suffering of unowned and unwanted free roaming cats. To humanely reduce the overpopulation of unowned free roaming cats by managing community based TNR (trap neuter return) programs in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. CA-R-MA's efforts are entirely volunteer based. We aim to reduce the burden on local animal shelters that are forced to euthanize hundreds of cats every year and reduce the unnecessary suffering of unowned and unwanted free roaming cats. We aim to educate communities on responsible cat ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering pets. Through TNR programs CA-R-MA.ORG 1) traps and then spays/neuters unowned free-roaming cats 2) releases them back into their colonies 3) improved the quality of life in colonies through dedicated caregivers and provision of food and outdoor shelter when financially able and 4) where possible fosters and homes those cats/kittens that are deemed adoptable from colonies where conditions are unsafe.
