THE ILISAQSIVIK SOCIETY IS A UNIQUE NOT-FOR-PROFIT INDEPENDENTLY GOVERNED AND LED BY AN INUIT VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS. ILISAQSIVIK IS ONE OF THE LARGEST EMPLOYERS IN CLYDE RIVER NUNAVUT IN A LOCAL POPULATIONS OF 1200. ITS PROGRAMS ARE WIDE-RANGING AND OFTEN UNPRECEDENTED – CREATED AND DELIVERED BY INUIT FOR INUIT IN INUKTITUT. ILISAQSIVIK BEGAN IN 1997 OUT OF A DEEP NEED TO DEVELOP THE COMMUNITY’S OWN SOLUTIONS. A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE ESTABLISHED TO CREATE LONG-TERM SELF-SUSTAINING INCOME FOR ILISAQSIVIK’S NON-PROFIT PROGRAMMING. ILISAQSIVIK IS AT THE CENTRE OF THESE THREE PILLARS AND ACTS AS THE CATALYST. MISSION STATEMENT: WITH OUR PROGRAMS SERVICES AND SPACE STEEPED IN INUIT CULTURE WE REALIZE FULL LIFE POTENTIAL BY SUPPORTING THE PHYSICAL EMOTIONAL SPIRITUAL AND MENTAL WELL-BEING OF INDIVIDUALS THROUGH EVERY STATE OF LIFE TO CREATE THRIVING SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES.
