Ongoing programs
All programs are made possible by the many volunteers who plan research and implement them and the donations of our 420 members. We maintain and operate Bethel Pioneer Memorial Cemetery We lease and maintain the heritage building housing the Scarborough Archives and Research Centre We maintain catalogue and preserve the archival collections and seek out additional relevant documents and objects to grow the collection. All programs are made possible by the many volunteers who plan research and implement them and the donations of our 420 members. We maintain and operate Bethel Pioneer Memorial Cemetery We lease and maintain the heritage building housing the Scarborough Archives and Research Centre We maintain catalogue and preserve the archival collections and seek out additional relevant documents and objects to grow the collection. We offer the public free access to the archives and its collections and a minimum of six public programs per year. We provide engaging educational opportunities for the community to learn to interact with and to share their stories of Scarborough. We offer free programming related to Scarborough for members and the general public in partnership with the library. We publish a quarterly newsletter and an annual journal 'Scarborough Notes and Comments'. We work to increase digital access to the collection each year through the following: We maintain and operate a website 'Scarboroughhistorical.ca' providing digital access to local history. We maintain and operate a Facebook page with over 19 000 followers (Scarborough Looking Back) We research and post historic images and information on 'Scarborough Looking Back' creating dialogue and encouraging users to share their own stories of Scarborough. We are indexing archival issues of Scarborough newspapers to increase access to these documents. We assist out of area clients with research.

We are developing programs in collaboration with local businesses that are offered at the business locale enabling our organization to reach new audiences and the businesses to draw new audiences from a broader area of Scarborough.
