In 2024 Eden’s Way Farm Sanctuary (herein referred to the sanctuary) rescued animals and provided sanctuary to animals (herein referred to the animal residents) Farm animal rescue will continue to be an ongoing primary activity depending on financial and physical capacities and animals meeting the intake criteria. The sanctuary remains committed to providing high quality and lifelong care to the current animal residents. Activities to support the sanctuary included the volunteer program. Over the year many people volunteered on a one-time casual or regular basis assisting with animal care farm operations and administrative tasks (e.g. sanctuary website maintenance data-entry). We also expanded our volunteer opportunities to social service organizations enabling persons with mental health challenges to receive therapeutic work experiences with animals in a safe and peaceful farm setting. Farm sanctuary tours (from April to October) have continued to be an important experiential educational activity of this charity in which people from all ages and backgrounds are able to meet our rescued farm animals learn about farm animal welfare issues and be inspired to make more compassionate lifestyle choices. We continued with the charitable program of sponsoring an animal to help support the animal residents. This program allows the public to financially sponsor a resident and in turn receive the benefits of helping to care for a farm animal and developing a connection with him/her that would not otherwise be possible. In 2024 the sanctuary continued its Humane Education Program focusing on children primarily by School Field Trips and our PenPal program. Additional community activities that helped to achieve the above charitable purposes included hosting events such as an Art and Appies' Workshop and an Animal Caregivers Retreat Day which both included an educational sanctuary tour.
