SafeGrowth in Strathcona- The purpose of this program is to activate the Strathcona neighbourhood using the SafeGrowth model to develop community led plans focused on crime prevention safety and community development and sustainability. The Vancouver Community Policing model is unique in that it is led and driven by the people in the neighbourhood of which it serves. The SafeGrowth method seeks to embed skills and tactics such as program planning crime prevention and CPTED community leadership and emotional intelligence into the community by working with groups like the residents neighbourhood associations non-profits and others alongside municipal government agencies such as the police and city staff. The goal is to co-develop neighbourhood programs with and by the community.
