CRIME PREVENTION THROUGH ENVIRONMENT DESIGN (CPTED): ENGAGES THE G-W COMMUNITY BY ENCOURAGING NEIGHBOURS TO BE PROUD OF NEIGHBOURHOOD PUBLIC SPACES. CPTED EVENTS INCLUDE PAINTING COMMUNITY MURALS IN PUBLIC SPACES THAT HAVE BEEN FREQUENTLY TAGGED WITH GRAFFITI. INITIATIVES SUCH AS COMMUNITY CLEAN UPS AND GRAFFITI PAINT OUTS ARE MODELED ON THE BROKEN WINDOW PHILOSOPHY WHICH STATES THAT NEIGHBOURHOODS THAT ARE WELL MAINTAINED IT WILL FOSTER A SENSE OF OWNERSHIP AND PRIDE AMONG THE RESIDENTS AND THEREBY ENCOURAGE EYES ON THE STREET CONTRIBUTES TO NEIGHBOURHOOD FRIENDSHIPS LEADING TO A FEELING OF Show more

INFORMATION SERVICES AND REFERRALS PROGRAM: CONNECTS THE GW COMMUNITY WITH POLICE GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY SERVICES WHILE PROMOTING CRIME PREVENTION THROUGH EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. EDUCATING RESIDENTS TO BECOME PROACTIVE IN CRIME PREVENTION IS THE MAIN OBJECTIVE VOLUNTEER PATROLS: PROMOTES PUBIC SAFETY. PROACTIVELY ENHANCE POLICING BY PROVIDING A VISIBLE PRESENCE IN THE COMMUNITY COMMUNITY OUTREACH: DEVELOPING & FOSTERING A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE GWCPC & THE G-W COMMUNITY.
