Medical treatment and Behavior Training - Veterinary costs as a total of Rescue and Care costs have increased to 47% (from 37%.) All rescued dogs receive veterinary care to ensure that their vaccinations and preventatives are up to date. Behavioral training costs have decreased consistent with the fewer dogs rescued this year. 3. Education - Using social media we continued our education of the public about various dangers to dogs. These include poisoning by the artificial sweetener Xylitol dog loss prevention and keeping dogs safe during fireworks and other events that might scare them. 4. Promoting compassion and kindness - through posts on social media we continue to educate people about dog abuse and reflected a high quality of treatment of animals that have previously been abused or are in need of medical treatment. We have promoted 'positive methods only' training to adopters and our adoption agreement continues to include exclusion of the use of choke chains and other equipment that can harm dogs.
