Ongoing programs

We delivered the 7-part eDiscovery social entrepreneurship workshop series in partnership with entrepreneurship@UBCO and Accelerate Okanagan serving 40 learners in the Okanagan community. We delivered the 7-part eDiscovery social entrepreneurship workshop series in partnership with entrepreneurship@UBCO and Accelerate Okanagan serving 40 learners in the Okanagan community. We helped participants transform ideas into sustainable impacts by providing online learning modules worksheets and templates complementing live workshops. We implemented the 2024 Sustainable Development Challenge with Global Citizen Events. We engaged about 45 students from School District 23 and provided mentorship and leadership training to over 30 Okanagan College business students who mentored the teams. Students collaborated on projects addressing global and local challenges developing solutions and pitching ideas supported by our online preparatory course on SDGs. Our online courses on leadership entrepreneurship social/community impact business/financial modelling customer development/marketing business proposal writing sustainable development and team building served over 3192 learners globally in 2024 providing accessible education. We delivered three cohorts of the Social Enterprise Incubation Program (SEIP) to support the creation of new social enterprises addressing community needs. Two cohorts in Kelowna BC provided 19 early-stage entrepreneurs and social change leaders (8 teams) with 8 weeks of hands-on training coaching online courses and advisory support. This launched 8 new social enterprises. A full 16-week East Kootenay cohort selected 6 organizations providing training and over 13 hours of coaching supporting 4 high-impact social enterprises addressing local needs (food security diverse abilities employment food innovation outdoor gear repair). We collaborated with 7 business support organizations to provide capacity-building resources including online courses and facilitating Social Enterprise Essentials (SEE) workshops. This collaboration provided 97 participants a low-barrier introduction to social entrepreneurship and increased partners' capacity by providing ready-to-use content for their communities. We hosted the 6-month virtual Youth In Development (YID) fellowship for 68 young leaders aged 19-35 from 28 countries. The YID fellowship equips participants with skills to lead social change through comprehensive courses networking and mentorship. We supported youth in developing social enterprise ideas fostering impactful initiatives worldwide.
