Ongoing programs
The Oakville Choral Society continued its in-person rehearsals for the 2023-2024 seasons. For the Fall season we rehearsed and performed music pieces from G.F. Handel accompanied by 2 soloists 3 trumpeters and an organist. For the Winter season we prepared for our April concert with a theme of environment and conservation. We learned and performed an original piece of music composed by a Canadian composer David Bowser. The Oakville Choral Society continued its in-person rehearsals for the 2023-2024 seasons. For the Fall season we rehearsed and performed music pieces from G.F. Handel accompanied by 2 soloists 3 trumpeters and an organist. For the Winter season we prepared for our April concert with a theme of environment and conservation. We learned and performed an original piece of music composed by a Canadian composer David Bowser. We collaborated again with the Oakville Choir for Children and Youth the Noble Voices who sang with us at our concert. The choir was accompanied by a 21-piece orchestra from the Toronto Mozart Players. Many of our members are volunteers. Together we contributed over 1 000 hours to keep Oakville Choral Society operating smoothly and strongly.
New programs
The Oakville Choral Society continues to expand our collaborations with other organizations such as the Oakville Choir for Children and Youth local schools and colleges and so on in order to increase diversity of our programming. Although classical music will always be part of our programming we are moving beyond this genre to include other types of music and themes such as the one we performed in April 2024.
